Competence centre for facades and windows
The development of modern façade and window designs increasingly head in the direction of large, integrated element-based solutions. For manufacturers of wooden windows (the majority of which are small to medium sized entreprises) this market provides significant opportunities for growth. With financial support from the prokis04/2 program a rig for testing façade elements was installed at HFA which allows 6 x 6 m large elementts to be tested with resepct to e.g. their water tightness, air tightness and deformation due to wind loads. Furthermore the testing rig facilitates the evaluation of joints between storeys.
