Accreditation
Accredited testing laboratory, inspection and certification body
The recognition of the reports and certificates issued by Holzforschung Austria and thus the impartial services we provide in the areas of testing, inspection, and certification is an important – often also legally required – precondition for the acceptance of our customers’ products on the various markets.
Holzforschung Austria is accredited by Akkreditierung Austria of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Economy, Energy and Tourism (BMWET).
Notified testing laboratory and product certification body
Within the framework of the European Construction Products Regulation, EU Regulation No. 305/2011 (CPR), Holzforschung Austria is also a notified test laboratory and notified product certification body (Notified Body 1359 see Nando-CPR). For instance, tests and certifications for obtaining the authorization to affix the CE marking can be performed for all industry relevant products.
Verification Body
Since 2005, Holzforschung Austria has also been a verification body for for electronic roundwood measurement systems and is therefore co-responsible for the functioning of this sensitive interface between the forestry sector and the sawing industry. The authorization is granted by the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV).
