Fire resistance of timber engineering components
Fire resistance is determined using new test methods. However at present, the effect on the classification of timber components remains largely unknown. In the course of the research project the basis for the assessment and classification of fire resistance of timber components is being prepared. Furthermore the foundation for a review of the respective standards and for the declaration of designs on the basis of the new testing requirements but without the need for further testing is laid. Also modeling and calculation tools for timber components are being adapted and dataholz.com is expanded. This project is part of the WoodWisdom-Net Project „Fire in Timber”.
