Gradewood – grading timber
This project is part of the European project “Grading of timber for engineered wood products” for which funding was sought through WoodWisdom-Net. The overall aim is to improve the reliability of grading and thus ultimately the application of timber. Machine grading systems and settings are to be established for sawn timber from all European sources. To this end data for the physical and mechanical properties of round and sawn timber from Eastern and Southern-European countries for example have to be determined and processed.
