KraftPell

research area: Energetic use
project status: ongoing
design-element

An additive for wood pelleting based on Kraft lignin is being developed as a high-performance, wood-based and CO2-neutral alternative to starch-based additives. The pellet industry expects significant growth in the next five years. More powerful additives can help cope with the growth in production that comes with a diversified raw material base. In addition to the HFA, the scientific partners are TU Bratislava (STU BA) and BEA Institute for Bioenergy. The collective research project submitted by proPellets Austria is funded by the FFG and financially supported by the cooperation platform FHP.
