In the LäDouKi project, ensile strength tests were carried out for the wood species larch, pine and Douglas fir. With the help of these tests, a strength classification for the sorting classes according to (ÖNORM) DIN 4074-1 were made possible for the tensile strength classes according to EN 14080:2013 and EN 338:2015. These classifications form the basis for the use of these wood types for the production of load-bearing timber construction products (glued laminated timber / cross-laminated timber). In addition to this work, bending strength tests were carried out on the same sample material. This allows for deriving conversion factors between bending test and tensile test and vice versa.
