Long Life Decking
In this three-year research project, Holzforschung Austria developed care and maintenance concepts to extend the usability and to improve the appearance of coated and uncoated wooden deckings. This involved both the preservation of newly installed deckings and the refresh of already heavily weathered timber plankings. An essential aspect was the removal of biofilm. Regarding the correct construction, the development of durable substructures by defining the required height and ventilation was the focus of the project work.
