Molecular biological infestation monitoring

research area: Raw & construction materials
project status: completed
design-element

The aim is to determine the protection requirements for freshly cut timber with regard to the seasonal colonisation by microorganisms, depending on geographic and local environmental conditions by using molecular biological methods, and to adjust the active ingredient composition of preservatives based on this.

In doing so, the actual fungal colonization on the timber is researched using DGGE, quantitative PCR and cloning techniques.
