Reclamation of calcium carbonate

research area: Ecological aspects
project status: completed
design-element

The project “Serecarb” positioned within the “ERA-Net SUSPRISE” framework aims at developing new processes for selectively reclaiming calcium carbonate from the effluents from paper mills and sludge. Reclaimed calcium carbonate is to be reused as a filler. This results not only in a reduction of waste material but also leads to the production of calcium carbonate which can be reintroduced into the process at the site or may be sold for other indsutrial applications. The new reclamation process is to be developed in this project by HFA together with German and Dutch partners.
