This R&D project, which was applied for within the FFG funding channel "Stadt der Zukunft" together with TU-Wien, is to examine window systems with innovative glasses, especially vacuum glasses, for building renovation.
The aim of this research is to investigate the extent to which new high-performance heat protection vacuum glasses (U-value up to 0.3 W / (m²K) with a total glass thickness of ≥ 6.1 mm!) can be used in existing window systems (e.g. box windows) and what energy-saving potential can be expected for windows, individual buildings and city quarters.
