The aim of the project was to further develop the digitization of the online component catalog into a multifunctional planning tool. A thematic focus was on the analysis, selection and evaluation of efficient wood and wood-hybrid components that meet the increased requirements of noise and fire protection in multi-story residential buildings. The filtering of the wooden components was extended by additional ecological filters in order to obtain a transparent comparability of the constructions with regard to their sustainability. Further more an open BIM-compatible exchange format (ifc), which transfer the component information directly from the database to individual planning software, was implemented.
This project was funded by the Waldfonds, an initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management, and was carried out as part of the Think.Wood programme of the Austrian Wood Initiative.
