Grade2New
Wood is widely recognized as a competitive renewable raw material for construction products. To maintain and improve this unique selling position, Europe is pushing the circular use of such products. Thus, research regarding the properties of recovered wood is urgently needed. Grade2New aims for practical approaches to strength-grade this resource. The focus is on strip lamellas obtained by splitting glue laminated timber at right angles to the glue line. Creating new construction products is studied, as well. Thus, Grade2New will help to enhance the relevant European standards, enabling a rapid implementation for the benefit of the Austrian wood processing industry.
