InfraWood
The aim of the research project is to develop dismantlable and therefore repairable wooden constructions for use in road infrastructure such as highways. One key element of this project is also to minimize the use of steel fasteners to keep the CO2 footprint of the overall construction as low as possible. In addition to the use of rear-ventilated formwork, structural timber protection is to be provided by photovoltaic panels. Potential fields of application include photovoltaic roofing and gantries in the road infrastructure. Central element of this research project is the use of sensor technology for continuous condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
